A Note From Dustin...

     I have always wanted to host a blood drive. My father was a Vietnam Veteran, and while in the service, he learned the importance of donating blood. I remember him taking my brother and I to blood drives at his church to teach us that it was important. He gave more often than the 8-week recommended waiting period. Possibly as a result, one time he fainted and did a header onto a table holding the donuts. My brother and I were pelted with donuts, I had a Long John stick to my face. Not sure if that was the impact that he intended. As a result, I've donated blood over 50 times. Each time is a challenge for me - they have to lay me back, and one time I even took a header onto a marble table. Despite the challenge and mild head wound, this has always been an import way for me to honor my father.
